Poured solid concrete or integral colored concrete is riddled with interconnected capillary channels that permit penetration by liquids that stain. These porous channels act like a sponge, and capillary action draws in liquids over time, along with any dissolved salts and other contaminants. Very porous surfaces, such as concrete, absorb liquids relatively quickly. Properly sealing your concrete will prevent the penetration of liquids such as motor oils, planter or lawn fertilizer rust, irrigation rust, battery acid, spilled drinks, chemicals and other liquids, as well as preventing mold buildup. Additionally, or sealers increase the tensile strength by up to 30%, retarding cracking or chipping of the concrete.
Advantages of Sealed Concrete.
Concrete is a very porous material, susceptible to all kinds of staining and marking. Oil, grease and rust are nearly impossible to remove because they are so easily absorbed. Unsealed concrete retains water for long periods, creating an ideal situation for mold and mildew to grow.
- Permanent water and moisture proofing
- Reinforces the density & hardness of the concrete by up to 30%
- Mitigates cracking, dusting & efflorescence of the concrete caused by moisture.
- Protects against the intense Orange County sun and other natural elements.
- Protects concrete from absorbing motor oil, rust and other stains
- Inhibits natural mildew as water can no longer be absorbed
- Reduces and or eliminates the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew and algae
- Extends the lifespan of a painted exterior concrete building & integral color decorative concrete.
- IDEAL for commercial concrete and high traffic concrete areas
- ALL IN 1 DAY PROCESS! Giving you less down time to have your car back in the garage or kids back in the pool within 24 hours of application!
- 3 year warranty on ground work (concrete driveways, sidewalks, parking garages, stairwells, etc.)
Our Concrete Sealing Process
- Pre-treat with concrete cleaner & degreaser
- Chemical removal of any oil/rust/stains
- Thorough power washing
- Post-treat with concrete brightener
- High pressure rinse
- Heavy coat of Concrete Nano Sealer
(this is a 1 coat sealant – additional coats will be simply waste as the product waterproofs so quickly, additional coats can not soak in) - FROM START TO FINISH, 1 DAY PROCESS!
- COMPLETELY SLIP RESISTANT!
Why should you seal your concrete surfaces?
Concrete is one of the most-popular surfaces in the world and it is used in a countless number of applications. From concrete floors and pool decks to driveways and sidewalks, you can’t go far without encountering something that is made from concrete.
While there are plenty of great properties that concrete brings to any project, its tendency to absorb moisture and to allow mold and mildew to develop is something that you would probably like to fix.
The best way to reduce the growth of mold and mildew in concrete is to not allow water to enter the concrete in the first place and that is exactly what Splash Proof will do for you.
For a commercial property or business owner, ongoing maintenance on concrete surfaces is an expense that you would love to get rid of, or at least dramatically reduce. For the homeowner, caring for the concrete surfaces around your home is probably a chore that you dread performing each year. The good news is that both the commercial property owner and the homeowner can take concrete cleaning off of their to-do list simply by contacting Dura Guard to seal your concrete.
It is water that creates the need for concrete maintenance, and we will make sure that the water never gets a chance to start any trouble in your concrete.
Of course, there is already a well-known method of cleaning concrete surfaces that have become coated in mold and mildew. It’s called power washing, or pressure washing and it is one of the most-frustrating and time-consuming maintenance tasks around for our commercial clients as well as our residential clients. Anyone who has worked to clean a concrete surface using a power washer or pressure washer knows just how difficult it can be. Not only is power washing a difficult chore to complete, but it is also only a temporary solution. You may be able to blast the mold and mildew off the surface of the concrete for now, but it will certainly be coming back in a short period of time. In fact, since pressure washing is done with water, you are providing the moisture needed for the next round of mold and mildew to begin to grow!
About RestoraPave Nano Concrete Sealants
Whether the surface in question is concrete, pavers, stone, or many other options, Nano sealers can provide a layer which will reduce the growth of mold and mildew for years!
This Nano Sealer is a nanotechnology coating that is solvent based, penetrating, V.O.C. compliant water repellent which contains a proprietary modified siloxane. This solvent-based siloxane penetrates up to 1/4 inch or more, depending on surface porosity and moisture content at the time of application. Splash Proof reacts with the minerals in concrete, pavers, and stone. This reaction forms strong permanent bonds beneath the surface and creates a hydrophobic zone that prevents water molecules from penetrating, while allowing free migration of water vapors. The chemical bonds formed in this process allows Splash Proof to become an integral part of the substrate and provide long-term water repellent protection.
Nano sealer water-repellent products create long-lasting protection (up to 15 years) from negative environmental effects. These products were designed to combat these problems, not only increasing the longevity of treated structures, but also decreasing maintenance costs. Effective hydrophobization is possible without using inorganic compounds.
Moisture is the root cause of almost all mechanisms that damage mineral-based building materials. The porous nature of mineral substrates soak up the water containing contaminants via capillary suction. This fact causes many damaging effects to the substrate. Preventing water ingress into a substrate structure can completely eliminate the risk of damages to the substrate caused by moisture.
Only 1 coat is required – additional coats are simply a waste based off the chemical makeup of the sealant.
Why choose RestoraPave over a competitor or doing it yourself?
Sealing concrete isn’t as simple as pressure cleaning it and spraying a sealer down. There are dozens of factors that come into play on every single job which will be dependent on application time, method, saturation requirement, and if it can be done at that moment. Ground moisture levels play a major part in sealing – every job gets a moisture test to ensure the product will not have any adverse reactions. Some things that can happen when concrete isn’t sealed properly is moisture can become trapped between the concrete and the sealant turning your surface white or yellow. Requiring a VERY COSTLY (usually $3/sq ft) stripping of the failed sealant and re-application.
No other concrete sealing company completes a greater annual volume of sealed concrete and concrete paver surfaces than RestoraPave – which translates directly to experience. We have all of the products, equipment, chemicals, sealants, and knowledge to ensure every project is completed to perfection. This is not a job for the “do it yourselfer”, homeowner, general contractor or handyman who claims to be a “jack of all trades”. About 40% of our business is on the restoration side of things. Serving all of Orange County since 2003 we are the leader and you cannot go wrong hiring the best in the business.
